England Coach Tim Southee Unsure on The Ashes Availability
The bowler's most recent Test for the Kiwis was versus England in December 2024.
England's fast-bowling advisor Southee is currently evaluating the extent of his role will be at the forthcoming Ashes contest in the host nation.
The ex- Kiwi pace bowler is expected to be present for the first Test because of his involvement in the ILT20 tournament, which begins on 2 December in the UAE.
The 36-year-old, 36, took up a role as England's pace bowling advisor in the summer after taking 391 wickets in 107 Test matches for New Zealand.
Commenting as England's team for the opening of three T20 matches against New Zealand was named, Southee said of his participation: "We're still working through that at the moment.
"We'll see what happens over the coming days."
English pace icon Broad had declared the Australia side as their "weakest squad since 2010", but Southee was in no uncertainty over what to expect during the contest, which starts on 21 November.
"I don't think there's at any time a bad Aussie side," Southee remarked.
"The team's attention is firmly on what we're trying to do. I think the quality of [the English] team that's going out to Australia is brilliant.
"It should be an thrilling encounter, that series. Not just [are|do] English and Australian people looking forward to it, I believe the whole cricket world is."
However, before the English team travel to Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they take on the Kiwis in the city of Christchurch on this Saturday.
