Vinted Shoppers Express Displeasure Over Sizing Changes
Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.
This online marketplace has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.
Online Platforms Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services.
The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Size Classification Modifications
Before the change, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Required Changes
A different user, located in England, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained.

The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
